Apprenticeships

The ThyssenKrupp Metallcenter gives you the opportunity to become actively involved in projects with direct practical applications during your training. Training courses organized in conjunction with a mentoring program round out our apprenticeship portfolio. All apprenticeships begin in August of each year.

Wholesale and foreign trade clerk

The duration of the apprenticeship is 3 years, although this may be reduced to 2 years for candidates with appropriate preliminary training. This apprenticeship forms the basis for positions in all commercial areas of our company: purchasing, sales, shipping, accounting, administration and data processing. Entry requirements: junior high school leaving certificate, commercial college or high school diploma. On completion of the apprenticeship, eligible candidates have the option of studying for a Bachelor of Arts degree at the Hochschule für Ökonomie und Management (FOM) at Erlangen. After completing an apprenticeship, you can also study for the Bachelor of Arts degree in parallel with a full-time position in cooperation with the Academy of Business and Public Sector Management (VWA). The preferred application period is approximately 8 months before the start of the apprenticeship year.

Machine and plant operator

The duration of the apprenticeship is 2 years. During your apprenticeship, you will be trained how to retool, set up and operate machines and equipment. Other areas of employment include preparing operating procedures, checking machine functions on test rigs and returning production lines to operation.

Entry requirements: a good lower secondary school leaving certificate.

The preferred application period is approximately 6 months before the start of the apprenticeship year.

Warehouse logistics specialist

The apprenticeship as a warehouse logistics specialist will introduce you to the entire spectrum of topics from planning to organization to process design and warehouse logistics. Other aspects such as environmental protection, health and occupational safety also play an important role. On completion of the apprenticeship, you will be qualified for a range of employment areas within the company. The main emphasis of your activities will be in planning and organizing warehouse logistics. Entry requirements: junior high school leaving certificate, commercial college or high school diploma.

The preferred application period is approximately 6 months before the start of the apprenticeship year.
