"clean coil"
1. Typical application
In the manufacturing process for rolled products, dirt particles, metal chips and various rolling oils are deposited on surfaces during rolling steps, annealing and other production processes. These residues can lead to quality problems in downstream processing operations.
Customers therefore need cleaned material for various areas of application. These areas can be summarized as follows:
- Bonding
Dry, dirt-free surfaces are required to allow the adhesive bonding of different materials. - Punching Punched
products must be clean to ensure that their intended use is not compromised during further processing. - Brazing/welding
Clean surfaces are particularly important in joining processes to ensure that welds are strong. Inclusions in the weld and dirt particles during brazing result in weld defects. - Forming
In forming processes, a defined degree of oiling and clean material are required to protect the finished product from damage.
2. Advantages of "clean coil"
After uncoiling, the material is fed into the machine. Special cleaning brushes remove dirt and abrasions from the material gently and without scratching using a cleaning emulsion/oil. The material can then be finished either with a defined oil coating or as a dry material.
