"exsal"

1. Typical applications

Designing interiors and facades is a complex subject. The requirement is for optically clean surfaces which, ideally, are esthetically appealing and preferably also unique, but low weight is sometimes essential for the method of construction.
The materials used to date which possess esthetic characteristics (e.g. sandstone) have significant disadvantages in terms of their high specific weight and other properties such as formability.

2. Advantages of "exsal"

With a specific weight of 2.7 kg/dm³, aluminum combines signficant weight savings with very good processability. The material's previous disadvantage - of poor esthetics - can be avoided using the new "exsal" product. In various work processes, different patterns are ground into the alumimum surface and the material is then anodized. Anodizing provides a thick protective layer over the surface of the aluminum (similar to painting).
